USMS will typically observe the following holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Presidents Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day
For holidays which fall on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the preceding Friday. For holidays which fall on a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the following Monday.
